HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. HDR is a technique of post processing multiple images that are combined/adjusted so that the contrast ratios are as a high quality image, which is usually impossible with a single aperture and shutter speed. HDR images record a greater range of details (tonal) than any camera could capture in a single frame/photo.
Follow the steps provided in this tutorial to create HDR pictures in Photoshop.
Steps to HDR photoshop
1. Open the Adobe Photoshop. We are using Adobe Photoshop CS5.5 but this also works on earlier or later versions.
2. From the menu bar, choose File > Automate > Merge to HDR Pro.
3. Next, click on Browse to choose to Merge to HDR pro.
4. Next, you may select multiple files by holding Ctrl while clicking the files or repeat the process from step-3 again. Then click on the OK button. Be sure that the images are the same, but with different lights. Also, all the image size should be same. If the image is different then you will see the picture being a bit blurred.
5. Next, images are merged to HDR quality. You will see merge to HDR adjustment panel with many settings. By default, the preset is set to custom. Leave as it is, unless you want to make it monochromatic or high saturated. There are sections like edge glow, Tone and Detail, Color with sliders in it. Play around with the slider or leave it as default. If you want more gamma or exposure then you can increase the value. Lastly, click on OK button.
